Our Mission
Put more farmers on the land.
BAU Farm Foundation exists to give beginning and specialty crop farmers a hands-on path into regenerative agriculture — through a tuition-free 3-day intensive, real land, and a community that understands what it takes to build a farm.
Why this mission matters
American agriculture is aging out — the average U.S. farmer is over 58. At the same time, beginning farmers face steep barriers: land costs, equipment, and know-how that used to pass down through families. Our mission answers all three with training that is practical, tuition-free, and taught on ground that has to actually produce food.
What we commit to
- Tuition-free training — cost should never decide who gets to farm.
- Working-land instruction — every skill is taught where it's actually used.
- Whole-farm education — soil, livestock, business planning, and land access together.
- Donor dollars to students — funding goes to tuition, tools, seed, and stipends, never leadership bonuses.
BAU Farm Foundation is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 42-3647027). Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
