This page is maintained by BAU Farm Foundation to explain how our website collects and uses information. It is not a certification or legal advice. If you have questions, contact us at Diamond.cleary@baufarmfoundation.org.
Who we are
BAU Farm Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that trains farmers in regenerative agriculture. Service to Soil is a BAU Farm Foundation Program. This policy covers this website and the forms hosted on it.
Information we collect
Program application
When applications are open and you submit our program application, we collect:
- Full name, email address, and (optional) phone number
- Service branch, separation status, and separation year
- Optional VA disability rating (self-reported, not verified)
- Location, background summary, and reason for applying
- Referral source (how you heard about us)
- Eligibility acknowledgements (U.S. person status, DD-214 possession, physical ability, ability to commute, program terms)
We do not ask for or store your DD-214 document, Social Security number, medical records, or financial information through this website.
Contact and event forms
Contact submissions, event RSVPs, and partner/investor access requests collect the name, email, organization (where relevant), and message you provide.
Eligibility pre-screen
Our eligibility pre-screen quiz runs entirely in your browser. Answers are not transmitted to us or stored on our servers unless you subsequently submit the application form.
Google Analytics 4
When enabled, this site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 sets cookies and collects:
- Pages visited, referring URL, and time on page
- Approximate location (city/region derived from IP)
- Device, browser, and operating system
- Custom events for key actions: donate button clicks, application starts and submissions, eligibility completion, event RSVP clicks, and contact submissions
IP addresses are anonymized by GA4 before storage. We do not link analytics data to your application submission. Data is processed by Google under its privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking third-party cookies.
Server logs
Our hosting provider automatically records standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and debugging. These are retained on a short rolling window.
How we use information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising.
Who we share information with
We share information only with:

- Authorities when required by law
How long we keep it
Application records are retained for as long as needed to evaluate your candidacy and, if you are accepted, to administer the program and alumni network. Contact form submissions are retained while relevant to your inquiry. You can request deletion at any time.

- Opt out of analytics using the tools linked above
- Withdraw an application before a decision is made
